Mark Herring -- Owner
Hi! I am Mark Herring, the owner of CertaPro Painters. My goal is to earn your trust and be your preferred local painter by delivering on my promises and providing excellent service. As a small business owner I know how important customers are and I sincerely want to create customer's for life.
Prior to buying a CertaPro franchise I was Vice President of Marketing at Sun Microsystems, and have spent many years in the high technology market, but I have always been in the customer service arena. I was drawn to starting my own painting company because I wanted to change the experience most of us have when using a contractor.
I really wanted to create
something that I can call my own. Being a business owner comes with its own
unique set of challenges, but being in control of my destiny is priceless. Owning
a CertaPro Franchise has meant that I can now spend more time with people, hear
their concerns and do my best (and the company’s best) to under commit and over
deliver. It gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment to absolutely
“Wow” my customers. It still amazes me how a fresh coat of paint can change a
person’s perception of a house or even a room. But, the best blessing is that I
don’t travel any more and I am now able to spend more time with my family who
honestly are the most important people in my life.
I have always admired
companies like Lexus, Starbucks, Ritz Carlton and others where you get reminded
that it is the experience that matters. These companies are head and shoulders
above their competition because they care about me! They know what bed I like,
what type of coffee I prefer, what time I like to get my paper etc. etc. My
goal is to bring that excitement and experience into the painting profession
one customer at a time.
Many companies can put a
coat of paint on the wall, but very few companies will provide that lasting
experience. It is my hope and my company’s goal to be the provider of that
experience to you.

Kim has brought so many customers of CertaPro a new perspective on their color choices and they have been thrilled with the results.
Kim's joy is bringing color to people's lives, she loves working with clients to change how they view their surroundings. From painting a wall to designing a room around a favorite chair - for her, it's about making someone fall in love with their space again. CIients sometimes ask Kim what her style is, and she responds “my style is making your space work for you - I won't be living here!”
